THE GATHERING:
16th Annual British car show
April 25-27, 2001

"The Gathering" is one of the largest British car shows in NC, usually having 180-200+ cars participating. This was the first time I entered my Caterham 7 in any car show. It was about a 2.5 hours trip to Winston-Salem from Raleigh, where we spent the night at a friends home. The next day was the show, held on beautiful grounds with lots of grass and trees. The weather was fantastic also. Because there were no other Sevens and only one other Lotus, I got placed in a "general British" catagory and did not win any awards, however WE DID MAKE THE LOCAL NEWSPAPERS (read the last 2 paragraphs).

The next day I participated in the autocrossing events. I had the 2nd fastest time of any British car there (by less than 1 second). I took home a First Place trophy for my car class.

All in all a fun time and we'll go again next year (weather permitting).
